Learning at Home

Learning at St Patrick’s doesn’t stop at the school gate, and neither does the partnership between kaiako and whānau.

Staying Connected to Your Child’s Learning

St Patrick’s is committed to giving parents and whānau visibility of their child’s learning and progress in real time, throughout the school year, rather than waiting for a single report at year’s end. This ongoing approach means whānau feel genuinely connected to what’s happening at school, while making use of the digital tools already woven into everyday life.

Face-to-face opportunities remain at the heart of this, with school whānau open days, parent-teacher hui and student-led conferences held throughout the year. Alongside these, mid and end-of-year reports are emailed directly to whānau, covering progress across Catholic Character, Learner Qualities, Reading, Writing and Maths. Termly updates are also shared via the school app, giving whānau examples of student work paired with narrative comments from kaiako celebrating the learning taking place.
